HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 895-1982ORDINANCE NO. 895-82 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 15.24.050 OF THE SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO MUNICIPAL CODE AND A PORTION OF SECTION 3 OF ORDINANCE NO. 848 EN- TITLED "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO ADOPTING THE UNIFORM FIRE CODE, 1979 EDITION, INCLUDING APPENDICES A THROUGH J, AND THE STANDARDS, PRINCIPLES, TESTS, METHODS, PUBLICATIONS AND SECONDARY CODES REFERRED TO THEREIN OR ADOPTED THEREIN BY REFERENCE; PROVIDING FOR AMENDMENT THERETO, ISSUANCE OF PERMITS AND FEES THEREFOR; AND REPEALING ORDINANCES 535, 654, 664, 694, 697, 716, 738 AND 746" FOLLOWS: THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO DOES ORDAIN AS SECTION 1. SECTION 15.24.050 OF THE SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO MUNICIPAL CODE AND A PORTION OF SECTION 3 OF ORDINANCE NO. 848 AMENDED Section 15.24.050 of the South San Francisco Municipal Code and the portion of Section 3 of Ordinance No. 848 which refers to and adds Section 2.110 to the Uniform Fire Code is hereby retitled "Violations" and is amended to read as follows: "It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to erect, con- struct, enlarge, alter, repair, move, remove, improve, convert, demolish, equip, use, occupy or maintain any building or structure in the City, or cause the same to be done, contrary to or in violation of any of the provisions of this Code. Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this Code shall be deemed guilty of a separate offense for each and every day, or portion thereof, during which any violation of any of the provisions of this Code is committed, conducted or permitted." SECTION 2. SEVERABILITY. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of this Ordinance is for any reason held to be invalid or unconstitutional, such de- cision shall not affect the validity or constitutionality of the remaining por- tions of this Ordinance. The City Council hereby declares that it would have adopted this Ordinance and each section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase hereof, irrespective of the fact that any one or more sections, subsections, sen- tences, clauses or phrases be declared invalid or unconstitutional. SECTION 3. PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE This Ordinance shall be published once in the "Enterprise- Journal", a newspaper of general circulation in the City of South San Francisco, as required by law, and shall become effective thirty (30) days from and after its adoption.
