HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 898-1982ORDINANCE NO. 898-82 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2.20.020 OF THE SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO MUNICIPAL CODE, AMENDING SECTION 3 OF ORDINANCE NO. 728 ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING BONDS REQUIRED OF OFFICERS OR EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO AND REPEALING ORDINANCE 1, ADOPTED OCTOBER 5, 1908" AND REPEALING SECTION 2.36.030 OF THE SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO MUNICIPAL CODE AND SECTION 3 OF ORDINANCE NO. 288 ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE CREATING THE OFFICE OF CITY MANAGER OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO AND DEFINING THE POWERS AND DUTIES OF CITY MANAGER" THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. SECTION 2.20.020 OF THE SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO MUNICIPAL CODE AND SECTION 3 OF ORDINANCE NO. 728 AMENDED Section 2.20.020 of the South San Francisco Municipal Code and Section 3 of Ordinance No. 728 are hereby amended to read as follows: "The below listed officers and employees shall execute bonds to the city assur- ing the faithful performance by such individuals of the duties of their office, specifically including but not limited to the issuance of checks and warrants and execution of bank signature cards, and said bonds shall be filed with the City Clerk. Said bonds shall conform to the provisions of the Government Code relating to bonds of public officers and employees. The penal sum of the bonds shall be in a reason- able amount recommended by the City Attorney and fixed by the City Council by resol- ution, but not less than the sums set forth below: A. City Manager B. Assistant City Manager C. Director of Finance D. Accounting Officer E. City Treasurer $500,000.00 $500,000.00 $750,000.00 $500,000.00 $750,OO0.00 SECTION 2. SECTION 2.36.030 OF THE SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO MUNICIPAL CODE AND SECTION 3 OF ORDINANCE NO. 288 REPEALED Section 2.36.030 of the South San Francisco Municipal Code and Section 3 of Ordinance No. 288 are hereby repealed. SEVERABILITY If any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of this Ordinance is for any reason held to be invalid or unconstitutional, such decision shall not affect the validity or constitutionality of the remaining portions of this Ordinance. The City Council hereby declares that it would have adopted this Ordinance and each section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase hereof, irrespective of the fact that any one or more sections, subsections, sentences, clauses or phrases be declared invalid or unconstitutional. SECTION 4. PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE: This Ordinance shall be published once in the "Enterprise-Journal", a newspaper of general c~rculation in the City of South San Francisco, as required by law, and shall become effective thirty (30) days from and after its adoption.
