AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2.36.020 OF THE SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO
MUNICIPAL CODE, AND SECTION 2 OF ORDINANCE NO. 288 ENTITLED "AN
ORDINANCE CREATING THE OFFICE OF CITY MANAGER OF THE CITY OF SOUTH
SAN FRANCISCO AND DEFINING THE POWERS AND DUTIES OF CITY MANAGER"
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. SECTION 2.36.020 OF THE SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO MUNICIPAL CODE AND
SECTION 2 OF ORDINANCE NO. 288 AMENDED
Section 2.36.020 of the South San Francisco Municipal Code and Section 2 of
Ordinance No. 288 are hereby amended to read as follows:
"In the absence of the City Manager or in the event of his temporary dis-
ability to perform the duties of the office, the Assistant City Manager, or some
other properly qualified person appointed by the City Manager, shall perform the
duties of the office of City Manager."
SECTION 2. SEVERABILITY
If any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of this Ordinance
is for any reason held to be invalid or unconstitutional, such decision shall not
affect the validity or constitutionality of the remaining portions of this Ordi-
nance. The City Council hereby declares that it would have adopted this Ordinance
and each section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase hereof, irrespective of
the fact that any one of more sections, subsections, sentences, clauses or phrases
be declared invalid or unconstitutional.
SECTION 3. PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE
This Ordinance shall be published once in the "Enterprise-Journal", a
newspaper of general circulation in the City of South San Francisco, as required
by law, and shall become effective thirty (30) days from and after its adoption.
