AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTERS 15.08 AND 15.24 OF THE SOUTH SAN
FRANCISCO MUNICIPAL CODE BY ADOPTING THE 1984 ACCUMULATIVE
SUPPLEMENT TO THE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE, UNIFORM BUILDING CODE
STANDARDS AND UNIFORM FIRE CODE, 1982 EDITIONS
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
SECTION 15.08.240 ADDED TO THE MUNICIPAL CODE AMENDING
UNIFORM BUILDING CODE AND UNIFORM BUILDING CODE STANDARDS
Section 15.08.240 is hereby added to the South San Francisco
Municipal Code and shall read as follows:
"15.08.240 Uniform Building Code and Uniform Building Code Standards,
1982 Editions, Amended
The Uniform Building Code, 1982 Edition (Library of Congress
Catalog Number 81-86609), and the Appendix thereto, and Uniform Building Code
Standards, 1982 Edition (Library of Congress Catalog Number 81-86610), are
hereby amended to reflect the changes made to them at pages I through 98 of
the 1984 Accumulative Supplement to the Uniform Codes, as promulgated by the
International Conference of Building Officials and the Western Fire Chiefs'
Association, and the foregoing portions of the 1984 Accumulative Supplement
to the Uniform Codes are hereby adopted and by this reference incorporated
herein as though set forth verbatim. Notwithstanding the foregoing, in the
event that the changes made to the Uniform Building Code and Uniform Building
Code Standards, 1982 Editions, by the 1984 Accumulative Supplement to the Codes
conflicts with any local addition, deletion or amendment to said Codes, the
local addition, deletion or amendment shall be controlling. One copy of said
1984 Accumulative Supplement to the Codes is on file in the office of the City
Clerk of the City of South San Francisco."
SECTION 2. SECTION 15.24.240 ADDED TO THE MUNICIPAL CODE AMENDING THE UNIFORM FIRE CODE
Section 15.24.240 is hereby added to the South San Francisco
Municipal Code and shall read as follows:
"15.24.240Uniform Fire Code and Uniform Fire Code Standards,
1982 Editions, Amended
The Uniform Fire Code, 1982 Edition (Library of Congress
Catalog Number 81-86619), and Appendices I-A through VI-D therein, and
Uniform Fire Code Standards, 1982 Edition (Library of Congress Catalog
Number 81-86620), are hereby amended to reflect the changes made to them
at pages 136 through 175 of the 1984 Accumulative Supplement to the Uniform
Codes, as promulgated by the International Conference of Building Officials
and the Western Fire Chiefs' Association, and the foregoing portions of the
1984 Accumulative Supplement to the Uniform Codes are hereby adopted and by
this reference incorporated herein as through set forth verbatim. Notwith-
standing the foregoing, in the event that the changes made to the Uniform
Fire Code and Uniform Fire Code Standards, 1982 Editions, by the 1984
Accumulative Supplement to the Codes conflicts with any local addition,
deletion or amendment to said Codes, the local addition, deletion or amend-
ment shall be controlling. One copy of said 1984 Accumulative Supplement to
the Codes is on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of South San
Francisco."
SECTION 3. PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE.
This Ordinance shall be published once, with the names of those City Council
members voting for or against the Ordinance, in the Enterprise-Journal, a news-
paper of general circulation in the City of South San Francisco, as required by
law, and shall become effective thirty (30) days from and after its adoption.

Passed and adopted as an Ordinance of the City of South San Francisco at a
regular meeting of the City Council of the City of South San Francisco
this 26thday of September , by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Mark N. Addiego, Emanuele N. Damonte, Richard A. Haffey,
Gus Nicolopulos; and Roberta Cerri Teglia
