RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN A
LETTER OF SUPPORT FOR ASSEMBLY BILL 311
(SANTIAGO) "FOOD FOR ALL" TO EXPAND ACCESS
TO THE CALIFORNIA FOOD ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
(CFAP).
WHEREAS, Assembly Bill 311 would expand access would expand the California Food
Assistance Program (CFAP) to provide vital food assistance to income -eligible Californians who are
currently ineligible due to their immigration status; and
WHEREAS, this legislation will increase access to food by removing the arbitrary exclusion of
income -eligible Californians from CFAP due to their immigration status, regardless of age; and
WHEREAS, support for Assembly Bill 311 will bring our community and nation one step closer to
achieving a world that is hunger free; and
WHEREAS, Assembly Bill 311 aligns with the City's Strategic Plan under Priority #2: Quality of
Life.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco
that the Mayor is authorized to send a letter in support of Assembly Bill 311 described in the accompanying
staff report presented to the City Council on April 12, 2023.

At a meeting of the City Council on 4/12/2023, a motion was made by Vice Mayor Nagales,
seconded by Councilmember Addiego, that this Resolution be approved. The motion passed.
