AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 20.57 (GATEWAY SPECIFIC
PLAN DISTRICT) OF THE SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO MUNICIPAL
CODE TO PERMIT OFFICE/SALES/SERVICE AND LIGHT DISTRI-
BUTION USES AND TO ESTABLISH RELATED STANDARDS
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Section 20.57.060 of the South San Francisco Municipal Code is
hereby amended by the addition of subsectiOns R and S to read:
Section 20.57.060 Definitions
R. "Light Distribution" means establishments primarily engaged in
furnishing transfer services without storage for distribution within the
City and its immedate surroundings. Typical uses include local terminals
for postal services, baggage transfer services, and contract mail carriers
but excluding freight trucking or transfer terminals, wholesale, storage
and warehousing uses.
S. "Office/sales/service" means a land use classification suitable
for and limited to offices, sales activities with showrooms or demonstra-
tion areas, and ancillary service of equipment or products. Typical uses
include business offices, sales offices, and office equipment sales and
service uses. This category does not include the sales, rental, or service
of vehicles or heavy equipment, retail stores, manufacturing uses or whole-
sale and storage uses.
SECTION 2. Section 20.57.200 of the South San Francisco Municipal Code
is hereby amended by the addition of subsections J and K to read:

SECTION 3. Subsection 20.57.250 of the South San Francisco Municipal Code
is hereby amended by the addition of subsections G and H to read:

SECTION 4. PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE.
This ordinance shall be published once in the Enterprise-Journal, a newspaper
of general circulation in the City of South San Francisco' as required by law, and
shall become effective thirty (30) days from and after its adoption.
Introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of South
San Francisco, held the 9th day of December , 19 87
Adopted as an Ordinance of the City of South San Francisco at an adjourned regular
meeting of the City Council of the City of South San Francisco, held the 16th
day of December , 19 87 , by the following vote:
