AN ORDINANCE ADDING SECTION 11.40.170 TO THE
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO MUNICIPAL CODE TO PROHIBIT
THE USE OF VEHICLES FOR HUMAN HABITATION ON
PUBLIC PROPERTY
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Section 11.40.170 of the South San Francisco Municipal Code
Added.
A new Section 11.40.170 entitled "Use of Vehicles for Human Habitation
Prohibited" is hereby added to the South San Francisco Municipal Code to read:
Section 11.40.170 Use of Vehicles for Human Habitation Prohibited
(a)
No person shall use or occupy or permit the use or
occupancy of any vehicle for human habitation on any
street, park, alley, public parking lot or other public
way. For purposes of this section, human habitation
means the use of a vehicle for a dwelling place and
does not include use of a vehicle for alleviation of
sickness or temporary physical inability to operate
the vehicle.
(b)
Any person violating this section shall be guilty of
a misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be punished
as set forth in Chapter 1.24 of this Code.
SECTION 2. Publication and Effective Date.
This ordinance shall be published once, with the names of those City Council
members voting for or against it, in the Enterprise-journal, a newspaper of
general circulation in the City of South San Francisco, as required by law, and
shall become effective thirty (30) days from and after its adoption.
Introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of South
San Francisco, held the 27th day of July , 1988.
