AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1.24.020 OF THE
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO MUNICIPAL CODE TO INCREASE
THE MAXIMUM PENALTY FOR MISDEMEANOR VIOLATIONS
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Section 1.24.020 of the South San Francisco Municipal Code is
hereby amended to read:
Section 1.24.020 Violation - Penalty
Except in cases where a different punishment is prescribed by any ordinance
of the city, any person convicted of a misdemeanor for violation of an ordinance
of the city shall be punished as provided in Section 36901 of the Government Code,
as that section or its successor reads at the time of the offense.
SECTION 2. PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE
This ordinance shall be published once, with the names of those City Council
members voting for or against it, in the Enterprise-Journal, a newspaper of general
circulation in the City of South San Francisco, as required by law, and shall
become effective thirty (30) days from and after its adoption.
Introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco, held the 24th day of Auqust , 1988.
Adopted as an Ordinance of the City of South San Francisco at a special
meeting of the City Council of the City of South San Francisco, held the 21st
day of September , 1988, by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Mark N. Addiego, Richard A. Haffey, Gus Nicolopulos,
Roberta Cerri Teglia, and Mayor Drago
NOES: None
ABSTAIN: None
ABSENT: None
As Mayor of the City of South San Francisco, I do hereby approve the foregoing
Ordinance this 21st day of September , 1988.
