AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 20 OF THE SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO
MUNICIPAL CODE TO ALLOW AMUSEMENT ARCADES WITHIN HOTELS
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The types of "commercial recreation" enumerated in subsection (c)
of Section 20.24.030 of the South San Francisco Municipal Code are hereby amended
to read:
Section 20.24.030 Uses subject to a use permit.
(c) Commercial Use Types.
Commercial Recreation:
Amusement arcades (within movie theaters and hotels only)
Indoor entertainment
Indoor sports and recreation
SECTION 2. The types of "commercial recreation" enumerated in subsection (c)
of Section 20.32.030 of the South San Francisco Municipal Code are hereby, amended
to read: ~
Section 20.32.030 Uses subject to a use permit.
Commercial Recreation:
Amusement arcades (within hotels only).
Indoor sports and recreation.
SECTION 3. A new subsection L is hereby added to Section 20.57.200 of the
South San Francisco Municipal Code to read as follows:
Section 20.57.200 Uses permitted.

SECTION 4. A new subsection 12 is hereby added to Section 20.59.030 A of
the South San Francisco Municipal Code to read as follows:

SECTION 5. The definition of "hotels" in Section 20.61.060 of the South San
Francisco Municipal Code is hereby amended to read:
Section 20.61.060 Use definitions.
Hotels. Establishments engaged in the provision of lodging
for six or more guests on a less-than-weekly basis which are
not oriented to immediate and direct access to personal
automobiles, with food, drink, and other sales and services
intended for the convenience and service of guests. Hotels
may include amusement arcades.
SECTION 6. Subsection B(4) of Section 20.63.030 of the South San Francisco
Municipal Code is hereby amended to read:
Section 20.63.030 Uses permitted.
B. Terrabay commercial district:
4. Hotels (which may include amusement arcades).
SECTION 7. SEVERABILITY
In the event any section or portion of this ordinance shall be determined
invalid or unconstitutional, such section or portion shall be deemed severable
and all other sections or portions hereof shall remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 8.
PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE
This ordinance shall be published once, with the names of those City Council
members voting for or against it, in the Enterprise-Journal, a newspaper of
general circulation in the City of South San Francisco, as required by law, and
shall become effective thirty (30) days from and after its adoption.
