AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 2.68.050 AND 2.68.060 OF
THE SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO MUNICIPAL CODE PERTAINING TO THE
SELECTION AND TRAINING OF PUBLIC SAFETY DISPATCHERS
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Section 2.68.050 of the South San Francisco Municipal Code is
hereby amended to read:
Section 2.68.050 Qualification for aid.
The city declares that it desires to qualify to receive aid from the state
of California under the provisions of Chapter i of Title 4, Part 4 of the
California Penal Code. This includes aid for both peace officers and public
safety dispatchers.
SECTION 2. Section 2.68.060 of the South San Francisco Municipal Code is
hereby amended to read:
Section 2.68.060 Adherence to standards.
Pursuant to Sections 13522 and 13525 of the California Penal Code, while
receiving the aid from the state referred to in Section 2.68.050, the city will
adhere to the standards of recruitment and training for both peace officers and
public safety dispatchers established by the California Commission on Peace
Officer Standards and Training.
SECTION 3. PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE
This ordinance shall be published once, with the names of those City Council
members voting for or against it, in the Enterprise-Journal, a newspaper of
general circulation in the City of South San Francisco, as required by law, and
shall become effective thirty (30) days from and after its adoption.
