AN ORDINANCE ADDING SECTION 20.24.030(c) TO THE
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO
CAR WASHES IN THE PLANNED COMMERCIAL ZONE DISTRICT
AND ADDING SECTIONS 20.74.060 AND 20.74.070 (j)
RESPECTIVELY TO THE SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO MUNICIPAL
CODE RELATING TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF SPECIAL
REOUIREMENTS AND PARKING REGULATIONS
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Subdivision (c) of Section 20.24.30 of the
South San Francisco Municipal Code is amended to add the
following use:
"Automotive Cleaning, Self-Service"
SECTION 2: Subsection (g) is hereby added to Section
20.24.070 of the South San Francisco Municipal Code to read as
follows:
"Any self-service automotive cleaning (car wash) operation
in a
P-C Planned Commercial District shall require a Use Permit.
Unless otherwise waived by the planning commission the following
special studies shall be prepared for all self-service car wash
use permit applications at the project proponents expense:
An analysis of the potential impact of the facility on
the water supply.
An analysis of the noise impact of the facility to
surrounding properties.
An analysis of transportation/circulation impacts of
the facility both on and off site."
SECTION 3. Subdivision (j) added to Section 20.74.060
of the South San Francisco Municipal Code is hereby added to read
as follows:
"(j) Automotive Self-Service Cleaning (car washes). One for
each employee, one for each service vehicle, plus two for each
self-service wash bay."

SECTION 4.
SEVERABILITY
In the event any section or portion of this ordinance shall
be determined invalid or unconstitutional, such section or
portion shall be deemed severable and all other sections or
portions hereof shall remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 5.
PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE.
This ordinance shall be published once, with the names of
those City Councilmembers voting for or against it, for at least
fifteen (15) days, in the Enterprise-Journal, a newspaper of
general circulation in the city of South San Francisco, as
required by law, and shall become effective thirty (30) days from
and after its adoption.

Council of the City of South San Francisco, held the 9th day
of February , 1994.
Adopted as an Ordinance of the city of South San Francisco
at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of
South San Francisco, held the 23rd day of February ,
1994, by the following vote:
AYES:
Councilmembers Jack Drago, Roberta Cerri Teglia,
Robert Yee and Mayor Joseph A. Fernekes
NOES: None
ABSTAIN: None
ABSENT: Councilmember John R. Penna
