AN ORDINANCE OF THE SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO
CITY COUNCIL ADDING SECTION 19.48.180 TO
THE SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO MUNICIPAL CODE
RELATED TO MERGER OF CONTIGUOUS PARCELS
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, Government Code §66499.20-3/4 authorizes cities to
adopt an ordinance which would authorize the merger of contiguous
parcels under common ownership without reverting to acreage; and
WHEREAS, to more efficiently process such mergers,the City
desires to adopt said ordinance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the city Council of the City
of South San Francisco that:
SECTION 1. Section 19.48.180 is hereby added to the South
San Francisco Municipal Code to read as follows:
19.48.180 Merger of Contiguous Parcels Under Common Ownership.
A. The City Engineer may approve merger of contiguous
parcels under common ownership without reverting to acreage. Upon
such approval, the City Engineer shall require the recordation of
an instrument evidencing the merger. The application shall be
submitted on a form approved by the City Engineer.
B. Prior to approving said merger, the City Engineer shall
determine that said merger is in conformity of the requirements of
the Subdivision Map Act and this title, and if it is, he shall so
state on the document evidencing the merger.
C. Prior to approving said merger, the City Engineer shall
consult with the Chief Planner and Building Official to determine
zoning and building code consistency.
D. An application filing pursuant to this section shall
include a non-refundable processing fee in an amount as set forth
in the Master Fee Schedule of the City adopted by resolution of the
City Council.
SECTION 2.
SEVERABILITY
In the event any section or portion of this ordinance shall be
determined invalid or unconstitutional, such section or portion
shall be deemed severable and all other sections or portions hereof
shall remain'in full force and effect.

EFFECTIVE DATE; PUBLICATION; POSTING
This ordinance shall be published once, with the names of
those City Councilmembers voting for or against it, in the San
Mateo Times, a newspaper of general circulation in the City of
South San Francisco, as required by law, and shall become effective
thirty (30) days from and after its adoption.
