HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 1192-1996 ORDINAlgCE NO. 1192-96 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRlkNCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA Alg ORDINANCE ADDING CHAPTER 15.18 TO THE SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO MUNICIPAL CODE AND ADOPTING THE UNIFORM CODE FOR THE ABATEMENT OF DAlgGEROUS BUILDINGS. 1994 EDITION THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Chapter 15.18 is hereby added to the South San Francisco Municipal Code to read as follows: DANGEROUS BUILDINGS CODE Section 15.18.010 Title. This chapter shall be known as the "Dangerous Buildings Code." Section 15.18.020 Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings, 1994 Edition. adopted by reference. The Uniform Code the for Abatement of Dangerous Buildings, 1994 Edition, published by the International Conference of Building officials, and as modified by the amendments, deletions, and additions set forth hereinafter, is hereby adopted as the Dangerous Buildings Code of the City of South San Francisco, and may be cited as such. Section 15.18.030 Amendments, General. Set forth below are the amendments, additions and deletions to the Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings, 1994 Edition. Chapter, section and table numbers used herein are those of the Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings. Section 15.18.040 Violations. Section 203.1 Violations. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to erect, construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move, improve, remove, convert or demolish, equip, use, occupy or maintain any building or structure or cause or permit the same to be done in violation of this code. Each day during any portion of which any violation is committed or continued by any person, firm or corporation shall constitute a separate offense and shall be punishable as herein provided. Section 15.18.050 Penalties. Section 203.2 ~enal ties. A/%y person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this code shall be punished as provided for in Section 15.06.040 of this code. SECT/ON 2. SEVERABILITY In the event any section or portion of this Ordinance shall be determined invalid or unconstitutional, such section or portion shall be deemed severable and all other sections or portions hereof shall remain in full force and effect. SECTION 3. PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE Pursuant to the provision of Government Code §36933, a Summary of this Ordinance shall be prepared by the City Attorney. At least five (5) days prior to the Council Meeting at which this Ordinance is scheduled to be adopted, the City Clerk shall (1) publish the Summary and (2) post in the City Clerk's office a certified copy of this Ordinance. Within fifteen (15) days after the adoption of this Ordinance, the City Clerk shall (1) publish the Summary and (2) post in the City Clerk's office a certified copy of the full text of this Ordinance along with the names of those City Councilmembers voting for or against this Ordinance or otherwise voting.
