5. Consideration of appointment to or special election for the position of City Clerk
Motion-Matsumoto/Second-Addiego: To adopt a resolution appointing Martin Romero to
position of City Clerk. The motion failed by the following roll call vote: AYES:
Councilman Addiego and Councilwoman Matsumoto. NOES: Councilman Fernekes, Vice
Mayor Gonzalez and Mayor Garbarino. ABSTAIN: None. ABSENT: None.
Motion-Fernekes/Second-Gonzalez: To adopt Resolution No. 30-2007, calling a special
municipal election to fill the vacant position of City Clerk; requesting that the County
Board of Supervisors consolidate the election with the regular election to be held on
November 6,2007 and that the County Registrar perform certain election services in
connection with said special election; limiting candidate statements to 200 words; and
authorizing the City Manager to reimburse the County for election services. AYES:
Councilman Fernekes, Vice Mayor Gonzales and Mayor Garbarino. NOES: Councilman
Addiego and Councilwoman Matsumoto. ABSTAIN: None. ABSENT: None.
6. Adjournment
Being no further business, Mayor Garbarino adjourned the meeting at 9:50 p.m.
