RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF
$7,500 IN GRANT FUNDING FROM PACIFIC LIBRARY
PARTNERSHIP TO FUND THE DEVELOPMENT AND
PRESENTATION OF A PROGRAM SERIES. THE GRANT
WILL TEACH ATTENDEES TO BUILD THEIR OWN
COMPUTER THAT MEETS THEIR BUDGET AND USE
NEEDS. THIS RESOLUTION WILL APPROVE BUDGET
AMENDMENT 24.019.
WHEREAS, Pacific Library Partnership has awarded the City of South San Francisco ("City")
$7,500 in grant funding to the City's Library Department; and
WHEREAS, the City strategic plan goals include the improvement of quality of life under priority
#2 and the promotion of economic advancement under priority #3; and
WHEREAS, receipt of these funds will enable the Library Department to provide technology
literacy programs that contribute to computer and digital literacy in our community; and
WHEREAS, the program series will assist in the development of contemporary workplace skills
and promote personal growth and lifelong learning for participants; and
WHEREAS, funding will be used towards program planning, staffing, and purchasing components
that will assist in building fully functioning computers; and
WHEREAS, staff recommends the acceptance of the grant funding in the amount of $7,500 from
Pacific Library Partnership to fund the development and presentation of the program series; and
WHEREAS, the grant funds will be used to amend Fiscal Year (FY) 2023-2024 Operating Budget
of the Library Department via Budget Amendment 24.019.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of South San Francisco
does hereby accept $7,500 in grant funding from Pacific Library Partnership.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council approves Budget Amendment 24.019 to
amend the Library Department's FY 2023-2024 Operating Budget in order to reflect an increase of $7,500.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to
execute the documents necessary to accept the grant funding and take any other actions necessary to carry
out the intent of this resolution on behalf of the City Council, subject to approval as to form by the City
Attorney.

At a meeting of the City Council on 12/13/2023, a motion was made by Councilmember Nagales,
seconded by Vice Mayor Flores, that this Resolution be approved. The motion passed.
