RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF
UP TO $15,000 FROM THE PENINSULA LIBRARY
SYSTEM TO FUND COORDINATION OF THE
PENINSULA LIBRARY SYSTEM' S 2024 YOUNG ADULT
NOVELISTS CONVENTION, YANOVCON 2024,
HEADLINING KEYNOTE SPEAKERS, AUTHOR
READINGS AND BOOK SIGNINGS FROM POPULAR
AND TRENDING YA NOVELISTS AND APPROVING
BUDGET AMENDMENT 24.020.
WHEREAS, the Peninsula Library System has granted up to $15,000 in funding to the Library
Department; and
WHEREAS, funding will be used to support the 2024 Young Adult Novelists Convention
(YANovCon); and
WHEREAS, YANovCon is a day -long event featuring thirteen celebrated YA authors; and
WHEREAS, YANovCon 2024 will be held in the South San Francisco Library I Parks and
Recreation Center on February 3, 2024; and
WHEREAS, funds will be used to amend Fiscal Year (FY) 2023-2024 Operating Budget of the
Library Department via Budget Amendment 24.020.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of South San Francisco
does hereby accept up to $15,000 in funding from Peninsula Library System.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council approve Budget Amendment 24.020 to
amend the Library Department's FY 2023-2024 Operating Budget in order to reflect an increase of $15,000.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that that the City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to
execute the documents necessary to accept the grant funding and take any other actions necessary to carry
out the intent of this resolution on behalf of the City Council, subject to approval as to form by the City
Attorney.

At a meeting of the City Council on 12/13/2023, a motion was made by Councilmember Nagales,
seconded by Vice Mayor Flores, that this Resolution be approved. The motion passed.
