HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 1259-1999ORDINANCE NO. 1259-99 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA AN ORDINANCE ADDING CHAPTER 15.18 TO THE SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO MUNICIPAL CODE AND ADOPTING THE UNIFORM CODE FOR THE ABATEMENT OF DANGEROUS BUILDINGS, 1997 EDITION, AND TO REPEAL THE UNIFORM CODE FOR THE ABATEMENT OF DANGEROUS BUILDINGS, 1994 EDITION THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings, 1994 Edition, Repealed. The Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings, 1994 Edition (South San Francisco Municipal Code Sections 15.18.010 through 15.18.050), as enacted by Ordinance 1192-96, and other ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith is hereby repealed. This repeal shall not affect or prevent the prosecution or punishment of any person for any act done or omitted in violation of this chapter prior to the effective date of this ordinance. SECTION 2. Chapter 15.18 of the South San Francisco Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 15.10.010 Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings, 1997 Edition, adopted by reference. The Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings, 1997 Edition, published by the International Conference of Building Officials as modified by the amendments, additions and deletions set forth hereinafter, is hereby adopted by reference as the Dangerous Building Code of the City of South San Francisco, and may be cited as such. Section 15.18.020 Amendments, General. Set forth below are the amendments, additions and deletions to the Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings, 1997 Edition. Chapter, section and table numbers used herein are those of the Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings. I I I~ """ Section 15.18.030 Violations. Section 203.1 Violations. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to erect, construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move, improve, remove, convert or demolish, equip, use, occupy or maintain any building or structure or cause or permit the same to be done in violation of this code. Each day during any portion of which any violation is committed or continued by any person, firm or corporation shall constitute a separate offense and shall be punishable as herein provided. Section 15.18.040 Penalties. Section 203.2 Penalties. Any person, finn or corporation violating any of the provisions of this code shall be punished as provided for in Section 15.06.040 of this code. SECTION 3. SEVERABILITY In the event any section or portion of this Ordinance shall be determined invalid or unconstitutional, such section or portion shall be deemed severable and all other sections or portions hereof shall remain in full force and effect. SECTION 4. PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE This ordinance shall be published once, with the names of those City Councilmembers voting for or against it, in the San Mateo Times, a newspaper of general circulation in the City of South San Francisco, as required by law, and shall become effective thirty (30) days from and after its adoption. 2 I I Introduced at a requl ar meeting of the City Council of the City of South San Francisco heldthe 10th dayof November ,1999. ..
