RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A
DONATION OF 22 SPECIALTY PUPPETS FROM
FOLKMANIS PUPPETS OF EMERYVILLE,
CALIFORNIA, WITH A VALUE OF $716 FOR USE IN
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO PUBLIC LIBRARY
INTERACTIVE STORY TIMES AND PROGRAMS FOR
CHILDREN AND FAMILIES.
WHEREAS, Folkmanis Puppets of Emeryville, donated 22 plush puppets for use in Library
children's story times and programs; and
WHEREAS, puppets from Folkmanis Puppets of Emeryville, will support the staff in enhancing
programs to capture and engage imagination and encourage play and learning in our young audiences' use of
the Library in the new Library I Parks and Recreation Center; and
WHEREAS, acceptance of this donation has no impact on the City's General Fund; and
WHEREAS, acceptance of this donation will contribute to the City's Strategic Plan under Priority
#2, Quality of Life supporting early learning opportunities; and
WHEREAS, acceptance of this donation will support Library interactive story times and programs
for children and families.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of South San Francisco
does hereby accept the donation of 22 specialty puppets with a value of $716 from Folkmanis Puppets of
Emeryville, California, for use in Library Department programs.
At a meeting of the City Council on 2/14/2024, a motion was made by Councilmember Nicolas,
seconded by Councilmember Addiego, that this Resolution be approved. The motion passed.
