A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH
SAN FRANCISCO AUTHORIZING AN AME~NT TO THE CONTRACT
BETWEEN SAID CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO AND THE STATE
EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM
WHEREAS, the Board of Administration of the State Employees'
Retirement System and the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco entered into contract effective September 1, 1945, pro-
viding for the participation of said City of South San Francisco
in the State Employees' Retirement System, and
WHEREAS, the subsequent amendment effective January l, 1963,
made by Ordinance No.484, adopted November 5, 1962, was intended
to amend the contract to exclude persons who are compensated on
an hourly basis; and
WHEREAS, said ordinance becomes effective December 5, 1962,
with said amendment therefore becoming effective January 1, 1963.
The amendment can apply only to persons hired on an hourly basis
from and after January 1, 1963; and
WHEREAS, said amendment purported to apply to persons em-

of January 1, 1963; and
WHEREAS, Section 20461 of the State Employees'
RetirementLaw
provides that an error made in a contract may be corrected through
amendments approved by the adoption of suitable resolutions by
the contracting parties;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that said City Council author-
ize, and it does hereby authorize, an amendment to said contract,
a copy of said amendment being attached hereto marked "Exhibit N'
and by such reference made a part hereof as though set out in full;

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the presiding officer of said
City Gouncil be, and he is hereby authorized, empowered and di-
rected to execute said amendment for and on behalf of said City
of South San Francisco.
