HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 3663-1963RESOLUTION N0.366~ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO ENDORSING THE PROPOSAL TO INCREASE THE STATE GASOLINE TAX AND/OR OTHER "USER" TAXES TO PRO- VIDE ADDITIONAL FINANCING FOR CITY STREETS AND COUNTY ROADS. BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that WHEREAS, to accomplish needed street improvements in the City of South San Francisco, additional financing will be necessary from sources outside of the tax base on properties within this jurisdiction; and WHEREAS, it has been proposed that the State Legislature provide additional funds equivalent to theamount which would be produced by a one-cent increase in the State Gasoline Tax by appropriate increases in the gasoline tax and other "so- called" user taxes, to alleviate the deficiencies on City streets and County roads; NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that this City Coun- cil of the City of South San Francisco, State of California, acting for and on behalf of the people of said City, endorses the proposed program to increase the State Gasoline Tax and other User Taxes to provide additional financing for City streets and County Roads. IT IS FURTHER DETERMINED AND ORDERED that copies of this resolution shall be forwarded to the members of the State Legis- lature representing this City, and to the League of California Cities.
