HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 3680-1963Annexation of Harvis Parcel-Country Club Park RESOLUTION N0.~680 A RESOLUTION GIVING NOTICE OF PROPOSED ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO OF UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESCRIBED HEREIN AND DESIGNATED "HARVIS PARCEL - COUNTRY CLUB PARK" AND GIVING NOTICE OF TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING OF PROTESTS THERETO. BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco: 1. That, pursuant to the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, a petition signed by owners of not less than one-fourth of the land tn the here- inafter described territory, by area and by assessed value · as shown on the last equalized assessment roll of the County of San Mateo, was filed with the Council of the City of South San Francisco on the 29th day of January, 1963, requesting annexation of the hereinafter described territory to said City. 2. That the territory which the petitioners request be annexed to the City of South San Francisco and which said City and its Council propose to annex, is situated in the County of San Mateo, State of California, hereby designated as "Harvis Parcel - Country Club Park" and described as follows: rcel-Couotry Club Park Portion of Loc hated on NO.L COUI~RY which map ~as ~Recorder of the Gouny~ ~o~ San ~teo, , Book~23 of ~aps at pages 54, 55; , i,//i particularl~scribed as follows. mo. That the County Boundary Commission of San Mateo County, California, did in session duly assembled on the 7th day of February, 1963, consider the proposed annexation boundaries of said "Harris Parcel - Country Club Park", as above described, and as submitted to said Commission by the proponents of said annexation, and did in Resolution No.775 of said Boundary Comission approve same. 4. That April 1, 1963, at the hour of 8:00 P.M., in the Council Chambers in the City ~11 of the City of South San Francisco, County of San Marco, California, is hereby fixed as the time and place when and where any personowning real property within the uninhabited territory above described and proposed to be annexed to the City of South San Francisco, and having any objections to the proposed annexation, may appear before the City Council of the City of South San Fran- cisco and show cause why such uninhabited territory should not be so annexed to the City of South San Francisco. The protest must be in writing, may be filed at any time before the hour set for hearing objections to the proposed anne~ation, and shall state the name or,names of the owner or owners of pro- perry affected and the description and area of such property, in general terms. 5. 'The City Clerk of the City of South San Francisco is hereby authorized and directed to cause a copy of this Resolution to be published at least twice, but not oftener than once a week, in the Enterprise-Journal, a newspaper of §eneral circulation published in said City of South San Fran- cisco, the city to which it is proposed to annex the aforesaid territory, and also in the Advance-Star, a newspaper of general 5 II ! II circulation published outside the City of South San Fran- cisco, but in the County of San Mateo, California, the County in which is located the territory proposed to be annexed to the City of South San. Francisco, said public- ation to be complete aC least twenty (20) days prior to the date set for hearinS. 6. The said City Clerk is further authorized and di- rected to cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to each person Co whom land within ch, terri- tory proposed to be annexed Was assessed in the last equal- ized County assessment roll available on the date the above said proceedinss were initiated, at the addresses shown on said assessment roll or known to said Clerk, and to any per- son who has filed his name and address and the desisnation of the lands in which he has an interest, either less1 or equitable, with said Clerk, such notice to be siven noC less than twenty (20) days before the first public hearinS on the proposed annexation. 7. The City Clerk is authorized and directed to trans- mit or cause co be transmitted a copy of the Resolution Co the soverninS board of each school district which in part or in whole is included in the territory sousht to be included in the City, and which has made written request therefor. 8. The said City Clerk is further authorized and directed to cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to each person to whom land within the territory pro- posed robe annexed is assessed in the Iasc equalized assess- merit roll available on the date the proceedings were initi- ated, at the address shown on assessment roll or as known to said Clerk, and to any person who has filed his name and [ I [I address and the designation of the lands in which he has any interest, either legal or equitable, with said Clerk· 9. In the event any land within the territory pro- posed to be annexed is owned by a County, the City Clerk is directed to cause written notice of such proposed annex- ation to be mailed to the Board of Supervisors of such County, such notice Co be given hOC less than twenty (20) days before the first public hearing on the proposed annex- ation. 10.
