A RESOLUTION ENDORSING THE FORMATION OF A SAN
MATEO COUNTY CHAPTER OF THE AMERICAN ASSOCIATION
FOR THE UNITED NATIONS
WHEREAS, the United Nations Organization has contributed
substantially to peace and understanding between the nations
of this world; and
WHEREAS,~he United Nations Council in its meeting at
Los Altos on February 2, 1963 endorsed the formation of a
Chapter in San Mateo County; and
WHEREAS, under date of March 1, 1963 the Mayors' Council
of San Mateo did individually indicate their approval by
petition.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
South San Francisco hereby endorses the formation of a San
Mateo County Chapter of the United Nations and urges the sup-
port of all other cities in San Mateo County.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is hereby
authorized to secure a membership in said San Mateo County
Chapter to further the cause of the United Nations Organization
and to promote the greatest possible understanding of its ob-
jectives.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was
regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the
City of South San Francisco at a re~ula~ meeting held
on the 1st day of Aortl , 196~ ,
