These minutes do, however, incorporate by reference the attached tour schedule and the handbook of issues to be discussed and distributed to the attendees. Study Session -Tour of Chestnut Avenue/El Camino Real Area (Approximately 50 acre area between South San Francisco BART Station and A Street near El Camino Real), including Redevelopment Agency owned properties in the area. 6. Council Members, Planning Commissioners, consultants, staff and members of the public will board a bus (or two buses) that will depart from Orange Memorial Park following the Centennial Way Dedication festivities at approximately 10:30 am. The Residential Neighborhood Tour will generally circumnavigate the City in a counter- clockwise direction. The tour route is flexible and could change, but at this time the neighborhoods/areas that will be toured include: • Downtown • Sign Hill • Paradise Valley • Sunshine Gardens • Winston Manor • Westborough • Serra Highlands • Buri-Buri • Southwood • Avalon • Brentwood • Francisco Terrace Approx. 1:30 pm -Lunch/Zoning Tour Wrap-Up -Orange Memorial Park To conclude the Residential Neighborhood Tour, a sandwich lunch will be served and the City's consultant, Dyett & Bhatia, will record feedback and final comments from all tour participants. Approx. 2:30 pm -Chestnut Ave./ El Camino Real -PUC Study Area Tour The tour will depart from Orange Memorial Park and will include awalk-through of the Ron Price building, and a visual overview of the study area. This tour is expected to take approximately one hour. Approx. 3:30 pm -Adjournment NOTE -Due to the nature of these tours, no official minutes will be taken. NEIGHBORHOOD TOUR WORKBOOK APRIL 19, 2008 DYETT & BHATIA Urban and Regional Planners South San Francisco PURPOSE OF THE TOUR The City staff and its zoning consultant, Dyett & Bhatia, are conducting this field trip in order to gain a shared understanding of neighborhood design issues. This information will be used to help decide where neighborhood- specificdesign and development standards may be appropriate. The map to the right identifies fourteen separate residential neighborhood areas in the City of South San Francisco that will be examined. Within each neighborhood area we will look at conditions such as building height and setbacks, architectural styles, location of garages, roof shapes, landscaping, and on-street parking. The purpose of the tour is to get your comments and feedback on these and other factors that define the different areas shown on the tour map. During the tour, please write your comments and feedback in the areas pro- vided.You may also jot down any thoughts or ideas directly on the maps on the left-hand pages, and on the photos on the right-hand pages.
