HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 131-1999RESOLUTION NO. 131-99 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A LIBRARY SERVICES AND TECHNOLOGY ACT GRANT (LSTA) FOR PROJECT READ IN AN AMOUNT OF $33,300.00 AND AUTHORIZING AN AMENDMENT TO THE 1999-2000 OPERATING BUDGET (NO. 00-5) TO ADD $33,300.00 TO THE LIBRARY BUDGET WHEREAS, the Library has been awarded a grant from the California State Library that is funded by the federal Library Services and Technology Act; and WHEREAS, this grant will provide $33,300.00 for Project Read to coordinate a project that will explore program retention strategies; and WHEREAS, the funding cycle for LSTA awards is the federal cycle of October, 1999 through September, 2000; and WHEREAS, receipt of this grant does not commit the City to ongoing funding after the close of the grant cycle. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City of South San Francisco that the City Council hereby authorizes the acceptance of a Library Services and Technology Act Grant (LSTA) for Project Read in an amount of $33,300.00 and authorizes an amendment to the 1999- 2000 Operating Budget (No. 00-5) to add $33,300.00 to the Library Budget. I hereby certify that the foregoing is a tree copy of the resolution adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco in a meeting thereof held on the 13th:tay of October , 1999 by the following: AYES: Councilmembers Joseph A.
