HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 10-2010RESOLUTION NO. 10-2010 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONSULTING SERVICES AGREEMENT TO GATES + ASSOCIATES FOR THE WESTBOROUGH PARK IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $176,526 WHEREAS, in October 2009, staff issued a Request for Proposals for consulting services for the Westborough Park Improvements Project ("Project"); and WHEREAS, staff received twenty-one proposals and interviewed the top six firms; WHEREAS, Gates + Associates was the highest ranked based on the superiority of their proposal, Project understanding, qualifications, and extensive experience; WHEREAS, staff recommends awarding the consulting services agreement for the Project to Gates + Associates in an amount not to exceed $176,526; and WHEREAS, funding for the project is included in the City of South San Francisco's 2009-2010 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) and sufficient funds are available. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the City Council hereby awards a consulting services agreement for the Westborough Park Improvements Project to Gates + Associates of San Ramon, California, in an amount not to exceed $176,526, conditioned on its timely execution of the Project contract and submission of all required documents, including but not limited to, executed bonds, certificates of insurance, and endorsements, in accordance with the Project documents. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute the agreement on behalf of the City Council upon timely submission by Gates + Associates of the signed contract and all other documents, subject to approval by the City Attorney. * ~ I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 27th day of January, 2010 by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Pedro Gonzalez, Richard A.
