CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
RESOLUTION AMENDING THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT
PROGRAM BUDGET TO INCREASE THE BUDGET FOR THE
BAY TRAIL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT (HASKINS WAY) TO
A TOTAL AMOUNT OF $196,500 TO REFLECT AN
ALLOCATION FROM THE METROPOLITAN
TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION UNDER THE
CALIFORNIA TRANSPORTATION DEVELOPMENT ACT
WHEREAS, under Article 3 of the California Transportation Development Act ("TDA"),
the Metropolitan Transportation Commission ("MTC") provides a two to one matching grant for
certain public improvements related to bicycle and pedestrian related projects; and
WHEREAS, the City of South San Francisco ("City") staff had applied for an allocation
of $131,000 from the TDA Article 3 for fiscal year 2009/2010 for the Bay Trail Improvement
Project ("Project"); and
WHEREAS, during the adoption of the City of South San Francisco's 2009-2010 Capital
Improvement Program ("CIP"), the City had not received an allocation letter from the MTC, and
the Project budget only included $65,500 as the City's required matching portion of the TDA
Article 3 grant; and
WHEREAS, on August 7, 2009, the City was awarded an allocation of $131,000 from
TDA Article 3; and
WHEREAS, City staff is requesting that the CIP budget be amended to increase the
budget for the Bay Trail Improvement Project (Haskins Way) to a total amount of $196,500,
which will reflect the $131,000 allocation from TDA. Article 3 and the City's $65,500 match to
the grant; and
WHEREAS, amending the CIP budget in an amount of $131,000 will allow staff to
proceed with reconstruction of the Bay Trail Improvement Project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council. of the City of South San
Francisco that the City Council hereby amends the 2009-2010 Capital Improvement Program
budget for the Bay Trail Improvement Project (Haskins Way) to a total amount of $196,500 in
order to reflect the recent $131,000 award from TDA Article 3.

the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 24th day of
February, 2010 by the following vote:
