HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 121-1998 RESOLUTION NO. 171-q8 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO'S DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS ENTERPRISE (DBE) PROGRAM THROUGH SEPTEMBER 30, 1999 WHEREAS, the City Council by its Resolution Nos. 104-81,160-84, and ! 12-95 has previously adopted the City of South San Francisco's Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Program; and WHEREAS, the Surface Transportation and Uniform Relocation Assistance Act of 1987 Requires that goals be reviewed and updated each year in order to receive federal funds for necessary street improvements; and WHEREAS, the Federal Aviation Administration requires that these goals be stated in the contract documents for airport improvement program grant projects; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that it continue its goal for the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise which is to utilize disadvantaged businesses to the maximum extent feasible, but not less than 10% of the contract cost for federally assisted construction projects funded between August 1, 1998 and September 30, 1999. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the City Council that it instructs the Director of Public Works to advertise these goals in the San Mateo County Times to allow for comments on the goals. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a re§ul at' meeting held on the 14th day of__ Oct._ , 1998 by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers James L.
