HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 42-2010RESOLUTION N0.42-2010 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION AWARDING THE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT TO GAMMA BUILDERS, INC. FOR THE SOLAR SYSTEM FOR ANNEX BUILDING PROJECT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $272,300 WHEREAS, City of South San Francisco ("City") staff issued a Notice Inviting Bids for the Solar System for Annex Building Project ("Project"); and WHEREAS, on April 6, 2010, City staff received six (6) valid bids in response; and WHEREAS, Gamma Builders, Inc. of Rancho Santa Margarita, California was the lowest responsible bidder; and WHEREAS, staff recommends awarding the construction contract to Gamma Builders, Inc. of Rancho Santa Margarita, California on the basis of their Base Bid and Alternate Bid in the amount of $272,300; and WHEREAS, the Project is included in the City of South San Francisco's 2009-2010 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) and sufficient funds have been allocated to cover the Project cost; and WHEREAS, the was awarded the Energy Efficiency Conservation Block Grant from the Department of Energy in the amount of $350,000, which will be used to reimburse the CIP. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the City Council hereby awards the construction contract for the Solar System for Annex Building Project to Gamma Builders, Inc. of :Rancho Santa Margarita, California, on the basis of their base bid and alternate bid, in an amount not to exceed $272,300, conditioned on Gamma Builders, Inc.'s timely execution of the Project contract and submission of all required documents, including but not limited to executed bonds, certificates of insurance, and endorsements, in accordance with the Project documents. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute the documents on behalf of the City Council upon timely submission by Gamma Builders, Inc. signed contract and all other documents, subject to approval by the City Attorney. ~ ~ I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution. was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 12th day of May, 2010 by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Pedro Gonzalez, Richard A.
