CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A GRANT FROM
THE CALIFORNIA STATE LIBRARY IN THE AMOUNT OF $7,000 AND
APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE 1998-99 OPERATING BUDGET
(NO. 99-10) UPON RECEIPT OF THE FUNDS
WHEREAS, staff desires to accept a grant from the California State Library in the
amount of $7,000; and
WHEREAS, the grant would be used to support Project Read's participation in the
Equipped for the Future project; and
WHEREAS, the funding cycle for the grant is from January 1999 to October 1999; and
WHEREAS, any funds remaining at the end of the fiscal year will be carried forward to
assist with the 1999 - 2000 fiscal year costs; and
WHEREAS, receipt of this grant does not commit the City to ongoing funding after the
close of the grant cycle.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco hereby authorizes the acceptance of a grant from the California State Library in the
amount of $7,000 and approves an amendment to the 1998-99 Operating Budget (No. 99-10)
upon receipt of the funds to add $7,000 to the Project Read Library budget.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City
Council of the City of South San Francisco at a Reqular meeting held on the
13th day of January ,1999 by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Joseph A. Fernekes, Karyl Matsumoto
Eugene R. Mullin, John R. Penna, and Mayor James L.
NOES: None
ABSTAIN: None
