HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 15-1999RESOLUTION NO. 15-99 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION ADOPTING A GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT TO THE EAST OF 101 AREA (GP-98-013), RELATED TO THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE MATERIALS RECOVERY FACILITY AND TRANSFER STATION ON A VACANT SITE. WHEREAS, South San Francisco Scavengers has submitted a request to the City of South San Francisco to amend the land use map of the General Plan (East of 101 Area Plan) and change various policies contained in the East of 101 Area Plan, as follows, and as further described in the attached Exhibit A: An amendment to the General Plan (East of 101 Area Plan) to change Policy LU-6a from "Recycling facilities and/or waste transfer facilities may be permitted on sites designated Light Industrial subject to the property being greater than 300 lineal feet from any other land use category" to "Recycling facilities and/or waste transfer facilities may be permitted on sites designated Light Industrial;" and An amendment to the General Plan (East of 101 Area Plan) to change the land use designation for the site from mixed Coastal Commercial/Light Industrial to Light Industrial; and WHEREAS, An Environmental Impact Report has been prepared in accordance with the provisions of CEQA; and WHEREAS, the City of South San Francisco Planning Commission held duly noticed public hearings on January 7, 1999 and January 21, 1999 and recommended approval of the General Plan Amendments to the City Council; and WHEREAS, the City Council held a public hearing on the General Plan Amendment request on February 10, 1999; and WHEREAS, proper notice of all said heatings were given in all respects as required by law. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the South San Francisco City Council does hereby find that: Proper documentation has been prepared on the proposed General Plan Amendments in compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act; and As indicated in the Staff Report for GP-98-013 for the February 10, 1999 City Council meeting, the proposed amendments to the General Plan will ensure internal consistency in the General Plan; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the South San Francisco City Council hereby adopts to the following General Plan Amendments: Amend East of 101 Area Plan Policy LU-6a to state: "Recycling facilities and/or waste transfer facilities may be permitted on sites designated Light Industrial;" and Amend the General Plan (East of 101 Area Plan) to change the land use designation indicated on the General Plan Map from mixed Coastal Commercial/Light Industrial to Light Industrial as described in the attached Exhibit A; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of these Amendments to the General Plan will be distributed and made available to public agencies and the public as provided in California Government Code Section §65357. I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at the regular meeting held on the 10th of February, 1999, by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Joseph A.
