HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 17-1999RESOLUTION NO. 17-99 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT WITH UNION PACIFIC RAILROAD TO INSTALL A CONCRETE RAILROAD CROSSING AT LINDEN AVENUE, MP EK-12.80, SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO LEAD SUBDIVISION AAR/DOT NO. 750260M WHEREAS, the Union Pacific spur line which crosses Linden Avenue just South of Railroad Avenue has deteriorated due to constant truck and vehicle traffic; and WHEREAS, usually when spur lines are owned by the railroad company, the local jurisdictions are required to fund the total crossing improvement; and WHEREAS, due to the use and location of this crossing at the end of a curve, Union Pacific has agreed to share half the cost of improving the crossing; and WHEREAS, this project will be funded equally by Union Pacific Railroad Company and the City; and WHEREAS, the City's portion of the work, $46,408, will be from Gas Tax and Transportation Development Act funds; and WHEREAS, there is $25,811 in Gas Tax and $20,597 in Transportation Development Act funds available for this project. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the City Council authorizes the City Manager to executive an agreement with Union Pacific Railroad to install a concrete railroad at Linden Avenue, MP EK-120.80, South San Francisco Lead Subdivision AAR/DOT No. 750260M. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a Regul~ meeting held on the 10th day of February __, 1999 by the following vote: Councilmembers Joseph A.
