HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 72-2010RESOLUTION NO. 72-2010 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION AU'THORIZTNG THE ACCEPTANCE OF A FUNDING OPPORTUNITY FROM KaBOOM! TO FUND A COMMUNITY PLAYGROUND BUILD PROJECT WHEREAS, City of South San Francisco ("City") staff has submitted an application to KaBOOM!, Incorporated, ("KaBoom!") a national non-profit, for a funding opportunity to install a new playground in the Paradise Valley Park, 291 Hillside Blvd., South San Francisco, California ("Project"); and WHEREAS, if selected as .a funding recipient, KaBOOM! will provide all playground equipment, provided that the City contributes $7,500 to KaBOOM!, which will apply the funds directly to the purchase of playground equipment for the Project; and WHEREAS, the total project cost for the Project is estimated be a minimum of $75,000; and WHEREAS, KaBOOM! al;>o requires the City to enter into a Community Partner Agreement if selected as a recipient of the funding opportunity in order to ensure that the funds are used for their designated purpose. NOW, THEREFORE, BE TT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the City Council hereby: 1. Supports the application to KaBOOM! for the proposed Project located in Paradise Valley Park. 2. If the City is selected, the City Council accepts an in-kind donation from KaBOOM! of playground equipment and will. contribute $7,500 to KaBOOM!. 3. Subject to receiving the funds, the City Council authorizes the City Manager to execute the Community Partner Agreement governing the use of the funds and completion of the Project. ~ ~ ~: I hereby certify that the forf~going Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of Sou1:h San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 28th day of July, 2010 by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Pedro Gonzalez, Richard A.
