HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 68-1999' RESOLUTION NO. 68-99 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION TO AMEND THE TAXICAB RATE SCHEDULE WHEREAS, the recent increase in gasoline prices has impaired the ability of taxicab companies in South San Francisco to make a profit; and WHEREAS, high gasoline prices were originally expected to last only a short time, but have instead lasted for many weeks with no immediate indication of reverting to previous levels; and WHEREAS, the last upward adjustment of taxicab rates was approved by the City Council in 1990; and WHEREAS, a rate increase is necessary to maintain taxicab operations in the City at current service levels; and WHEREAS, the rate schedule established herein is similar to rate schedules established in neighboring cities; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the City Council hereby authorizes a taxicab rate schedule increase in the amounts set forth below: Flag Drop: In Town Rate: Out of Town Rate: Traffic Delay/Waiting Time: $2.00 $2.20 per mile $2.20 per mile $24.00 per hour This resolution shall be effective until August 26, 1999. Upon termination of the effective period of this resolution, the approved rates shall revert to those rates effective on May 25, 1999. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a Regular meeting held on the 26th day of May, 1999, by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Joseph A. Fernekes and Eugene R. Mullin, Mayor Pro Tem Karyl Matsumoto, and Mayor James L. Datzman NOES: None ABSTAIN: None ABSENT: Councilman John R.
