CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN APPLICATION FOR GRANT
FUNDS FROM THE HAZARD MITIGATION GRANT PROGRAM
AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO PREPARE AND
EXECUTE AN APPLICATION AND ACCEPTANCE DOCUMENTS
WHEREAS, the Office of Emergency Services for the State of California is soliciting applications
for the Hazard Mitigation Gram Program; and
WHEREAS, said program projects typically include protecting, strengthening, elevating,
relocating or otherwise improving buildings or infrastructure to withstand the damage of future natural
disasters; and
WHEREAS, acquisition of such Hazard Mitigation Gram Program funding would require a 25 9[
matching fund from the local entity;
WHEREAS, staff desires to make application for several storm drain improvement projects
identified in the Capital Improvement Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of South San Francisco does hereby resolve as
follows:
1. The City Manager, or his designee, is hereby authorized to submit an application for grant
funds from the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program and is further authorized to execute all necessary
application and acceptance documents.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City
Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regul ar' meeting held on the 2$th day of_
danuary , 1998 by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmembers James L. Datzman, Joseph A. Fernekes, Karyl
Matsumoto, John R. Penna and Eugene R. Mullin
