HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 20-1998 RESOLUTION NO. 20-98 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION RESCINDING RESOLUTION 181-86 ESTABLISHING A CULTURAL EVENTS COMMITTEE AND TRUST FUND AND PROVIDING THE CULTURAL ARTS COMMISSION THE OPPORTUNITY TO UTILIZE THE FUNDS FOR CULTURAL ARTS AND ACTIVITIES IN THE COMMUNITY WHEREAS, the City passed a Resolution establishing a Cultural Events Committee and Trust Fund; and WHEREAS, the Resolution provided for a five member committee consisting of Councilmembers and appointees by the Council; and and WHEREAS, the City Council never proceeded with formal appointment of committee members; WHEREAS, a Cultural Arts Commission was created in 1994; and WHEREAS, the Cultural Arts Commission would like to utilize the funds donated to the Cultural Events Committee and Trust Fund for cultural arts and activities in the City. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco, that: 1. The City hereby authorizes the rescission of Resolution 181-86. 2. The City Council further authorizes the Cultural Arts Commission to recommend to the City Council appropriate use of the $28,146 previously allocated for cultural arts and activities in the community. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regu 1 ar' meeting held on the 25th day of_ Feb. ,1998 by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers James L. Datzman, Joseph A. Fernekes, Karvl Matsumoto and Mayor Eugene R. Mullin NOES: None ABSTAIN: None ABSENT: Councilmember John R. Penna A:\CULTURAL. ART City Clerk
