CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
RESOLUTION AWARDING THE CONSTRUCTION
CONTRACT TO C.F. ARCHIBALD, INC. FOR THE
GATEWAY BOULEVARD STREET IMPROVEMENTS
PROJECT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $378,990
.WHEREAS, City of South San Francisco ("City") staff issued a Notice Inviting Bids for
the Gateway Boulevard Street Improvements Project ("Project"); and
WHEREAS, on August 3, 2010, City staff received six (6) bids in response; ar~d
WHEREAS, C.F. Archibald, Inc. of Redwood City, California was the lowest responsible
bidder; and
WHEREAS, the Project is included in the City of South San Francisco's 2010-2011
Capital Improvement Program (CIP) and sufficient funds have been allocated to cover the
Project cost.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco that the City Council hereby awards the construction contract for the Gateway
Boulevard Street Improvements Project to C.F. Archibald, Inc. of Redwood City, California, in
an amount not to exceed $378,990, conditioned on C.F. Archibald, Inc.'s timely execution of the
Project contract and submission of all required documents, including but not limited to executed
bonds, certificates of insurance, and endorsements, in accordance with the Project construction
contract.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute the
documents on behalf of the City Council upon timely submission by C.F. Archibald, Inc.'s
signed contract and all other documents, subject to approval by the City Attorney.

I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by
the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the :l lth day of
August, 2010 by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Pedro Gonzalez, Richard A Garbarino, and Karyl Matsumoto,
Vice Mayor Kevin Mullin and Mayor Mark Addie~o
