CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
RESOLUTION AWARDING CONSULTING SERVICES
AGREEMENTS TO T.Y. LIN INTERNATIONAL AND URS
CORPORATION FOR THE EAST OF 101 RAMP
IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS
WHEREAS, in March 20C-9, staff issued a Request for Proposals ("R.FP") for design
services for the East of 101 Ramp Improvement Projects ("Project"); and
WHEREAS, on April 29, 2009, the City of South San Francisco ("City") staff received
proposals from five (5) firms; and
WHEREAS, a panel consisting of engineering staff, a City representative, and a City and
County Association of Governments ("C/CAG") representative interviewed all five firms who
submitted proposals; and
WHEREAS, T.Y. Lin International ("TYLI") and URS Corporation ("URS") were
ranked highest based on their proposal, project understanding, qualifications, and experience;
and
WHEREAS, staff recommends awarding an agreement to TYLI for $695,436 and to URS
for $509,201 to perform design services for the Project; and
WHEREAS, award of the consulting services agreements to TYLI and URS will provide
for the preparation of the alternative design, plans, specifications, estimates, and construction
support for the Project.
WHEREAS, the project will be funded by the East of 101 Traffic Impact Fee.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE :[T RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City o.f South San
Francisco that the City Council hereby awards consulting services agreements t~o T.Y. Lin
International and URS Corporation for design services for the East of 101 Ramp Improvement
Projects in an amount not to exceed $695,436 and $509,201, respectively, conditioned on TYLI
and URS' timely execution of the Project contract and submission. of all required documents,
including but not limited to certificates of insurance and endorsements, in accordance with the
Project agreements.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute the
documents onbehalf of the City Council.

I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by
the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 11th day of
August, 2010 by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Pedro Gonzalez, Richard A. Garbarino, and Kar~tsumoto,
Vice Mayor Kevin 1V[ullin and Mayor Mark Addiego
