HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 41-1998 RESOLUTION NO. 41-98 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SUBMITTAL OF A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF FORESTRY AND FIRE PROTECTION FOR $30,000 TO PLANT 500 TREES IN THE WESTBOROUGH AREA WHEREAS, the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CDF) has $30,000 in Grant Funds available under the California Wildlife, Coastal and Parkland and Conservation Bond Act. of 1988 ( Proposition 70); and WHEREAS, Staff wishes to apply for these grant monies to fund the planting of Five Hundred (500) 15-Gallon trees in the Common Greens of the Westborough area to replace those lost in winter storms in the past two years; and WHEREAS, the grant if approved will fund the cost of trees, tree planting, supplies, and other materials. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that it hereby authorizes the submittal of a grant application to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection for $30,000 to plant 500 trees in the Westborough area. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the Redevelopment Agency of the City of South San Francisco at a regul ar meeting held on the __ ??nd day of April , 1998 by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers James L.
