CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE MITIGATED NEGATIVE
DECLARATION FOR THE OYSTER POINT BOULEVARD
WIDENING PROJECT AND APPROVING A MITIGATION
MONITORING PLAN
WHEREAS, the City of South San Francisco has received several applications for new office,
hotel, retail and other developments in the eastern portion of the city; and
WHEREAS, Oyster Point Boulevard is one of the primary east-west arterial roadway in the
East of 101 area and has been designated as a major transportation corridor to support existing and
planned uses in the East of 101 Area; and
WHEREAS, the East of 101 Area Plan, adopted by the City of South San Francisco in 1994
identified the need to widen Oyster Point Boulevard from two to four lanes along with various other
related improvements; and
WHEREAS, an Initial Study was conducted for this project which funds that with the
incorporation of mitigation measures there would be no significant effects on the environment; and
WHEREAS, a Mitigated Negative Declaration has been prepared for this application and is on
file in the South San Francisco Public Works Department; and
WHEREAS, a Mitigation Monitoring Program has been prepared in accordance with Public
Resources Code Section 21081.6; and
WHEREAS, the South San Francisco City Council reviewed the Mitigated Negative
Declaration on May 27, 1998; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco that the City Council hereby finds that:
The proposed widening of Oyster Point Boulevard between Gateway
Boulevard and Marina Boulevard will not have a significant effect on
the environment with the application of identified mitigation measures,
based on a review of the Initial Study.
The Mitigated Negative Declaration and Mitigation and Monitoring
Plan for the Oyster Point Widening Project.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City
Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regu] ar meeting held on the 27th day
of Flay , 1998 by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmembers James L. Datzman,
Karvl Matsumoto and Mayor Eugene
NOES: None
ABSTAIN: None
ABSENT: Councilmember John R. Penna
