CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN AWARD OF CONTRACT TO GROUP 4
ARCHITECTS IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $60,000 FOR THE WEST
ORANGE LIBRARY EXPANSION PROJECT AND APPROVING A BUDGET
AMENDMENT TO THE 1997-98 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (CIP
98-13) TO INCREASE THE ALLOCATION BY $45,000
FOR THE WEST ORANGE I,IBRARY EXPANSION
WHEREAS, the City desires to award the contract to the lowest responsible bidder, Group 4
Architects; and
WHEREAS, the object of this study is to develop a plan for improvement of the facility which will
enable the library to provide state-of-the-art services to the community for at least the next twenty ( 20 ) years;
and
WHEREAS, the funding for the project is in the Capital Improvement with a budget of $20,000; and
WHEREAS, an additional $45,000 will be required to award the study to the Consultant and to cover
City administrative cost.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco that it hereby authorizes an award of contract to Group 4 Architects for the West Orange Library
Expansion project in the amount not to exceed $60,000 and approve an amendment to the 1997-1998 Capital
Improvement Program budget (CIP 98-13) to add $45,000 for West Orange Library Expansion with funding
from the undesignated reserve.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City
Council of the City of South San Francisco at a s Doc 5 a ] meeting held on the 17 th day of
Dec. , 1997 by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmembers James L. Datzman, Joseph A. Fernekes,
Matsumoto, John R. Penna and Mayor Enqene R. Mullin
