CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONTRACT IN THE AMOUNT OF 393,288
TO COM-AID, INC. FOR PROVIDING AND INSTALLING A NEW
TELEPHONE SYSTEM FOR CITY OFFICES AND APPROVING AN
AGREEMENT WITH M.L. STERN, INC. TO PROVIDE LEASE/PURCHASE
FUNDING FOR THE TEl .EPHONE SYSTEM
WHEREAS, the City desires to purchase and install a new telephone system for City Offices; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to award the contract to the lowest responsible bidder, Com-Aide,
Inc., in the amount of $393,288; and
WHEREAS, the total cost for purchasing, installing, and making the necessary capital
improvements for the new telephone system is projected to be $578,977; and
WHEREAS, City intends to pay $193,000 of the total cost of the new telephone system from
approved funds, and desires to enter into a five year lease-purchase agreement with M.L. Stern, Inc., to
fund the remaining balance of $385,977 needed to purchase, install and make the necessary capital
improvements for the telephone system.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco
1. It hereby authorizes an award of a contract in an amount of $393,288 to Com-aide, Inc.,
for the purchase and installation of a new telephone system for City offices.
2. It further authorizes the City Manager to enter into a five year lease-purchase agreement
with M.L. Stern, Inc., to finance the projected amount of $385,977 needed to purchase, install and make
the necessary capital improvements for the telephone system.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is authorized to execute the Agreement on
behalf of the City.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City
Council of the City of South San Francisco at a re gu ] a r meeting held on the Path day of_

Penna, Robert Yee and Mayor Joseph A. Fernekes
