CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE 1997/98
CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (CIP 98-5) TO ADD $110,000
TO THE 1997/98 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM FOR REPAIR
OF THE POINT SAN BRUNO BREAKWATER JETTY, APPROVING
THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND AUTHORIZING THE
ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS FOR THE SAME REPAIR
WHEREAS, during the winter storms of 1996/97 high tidal and wind actions damaged the Point San
Bruno Breakwater Jetty; and
WHEREAS, the City has applied to Federal Emergency Management Agency (F.E.M.A) and the
State Office of Emergency Services (O.E.S) for financial recovery funding as the storm events where covered
under Declared Disaster Proclamations; and
WHEREAS, confirmation has been gathered affirming that F.E.M.A. will reimburse the City for 75%
of the cost and the State O.E.S. will fund the remaining 25% allowing the City to recapture all of the
anticipated costs; and
WHEREAS, the work must be completed by July 8, 1998 to qualify for full fund reimbursement; and
WHEREAS, funding for this project is available from the Undesignated Reserve Fund, which will be
fully reimbursed by F.E.M.A. and O.E.S. upon completion of the project; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE 1T RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco
that it hereby approves an amendment to the 1997/98 Capital Improvement Program (CIP 98-5) to add
$110,000 to the Capital Improvement Program for repair of Point San Bruno Breakwater Jetty, and approve
plans and specifications, and to authorize advertising for bids for the said repairs. Upon receipt of the
F.E.M.A. and O.E.S. grants, the proceeds shall be placed in the undesignated reserve.
