HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 114-1997RESOLUTION NO. 114-97 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE COMPENSATION PLAN FOR THE EXECUTIVE MANAGEMENT EMPLOYEES, FOR THE PERIOD OF JULY 1, 1997, THROUGH JUNE 30. 2000 WHEREAS, the representatives of the City and Executive Management have reached agreement on the wages and benefits which are to be in effect during the period of July 1, 1997, through June 30, 2000; and WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends that the Executive Management Compensation Plan be approved by the City Council; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that: (1) It hereby approves the Compensation Plan for Executive Management Employees attached hereto as Exhibits "A" and "B", which set forth the wages and benefits to be in effect during the period of July 1, 1997 through June 30, 2000; (2) The City Manager is directed to prepare a revised compensation plan booklet incorporating the changes set forth in Exhibit "A" and "B "subject to review and approval as to form by the City Attorney. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regul ar meeting held on the 8th day of October , 1997 by the following vote: AYES: Counci 1 members Penna, Robert Yee and NOES: None ABSTAIN: None ABSENT: None .au\COMPPLN.RSO James L. For the period July 1, 1997 through June 30, 1998 salaries shall be adjusted as shown in Exhibit A. 2. For the period July 1, 1998 through June 30, 1999 salaries shall be increased by 3.5%. For the period July 1, 1999 through June 30, 2000 a market survey shall be completed using the City's ten benchmark cities, and salaries will be adjusted accordingly. Safety: 1. FQr the period July 1, 1997 through June 30, 1998, the Police Chiefs and Fire Chief's salary shall be adjusted as shown in Exhibit A. For the period January 1, 1998 through June 30, 2000 the Police Chief shall receive whatever wage increase is received by the safety members of the Police Association. In addition, the Police Chief shall receive whatever adjustment may be granted to the Police Captains, after January 1, 1998 that would change the percentage spread between the Police Chief and Police Captain classifications. Salary adjustments shall occur at the same time they are provided to the Police Association and Police Captains. o For the period July 1, 1998 through June 30, 2000 the Fire Chief shall receive whatever wage increase is received by the safety members of the Fire Fighter Union. In addition, the Fire Chief shall receive whatever adjustment is granted to the Assistant Fire Chief, after January l, 1998 that would change the percentage spread between the Fire Chief and Assistant Chief classifications. Salary adjustments shall occur at the time they are provided to Fire Fighter Union and Assistant Fire Chief. BENEFITS: Physical Fitness Wellness Program - The annual fiscal year amount shall be increased from $700 to $850. Prior approval from the City Manager must be obtained for any medical examination that will exceed $850. BONUS PROGRAM: The Executive Managers will develop for the City employees.
