HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 28-1997RESOLUTION NO. 28-97 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE AWARD OF A TIME AND MATERIALS CONTRACT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $25,000 FOR PRELIMINARY DESIGN OF CH2M HILL FOR THE WIDENING OF A PORTION OF OYSTER POINT BOULEVARD AND APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM BUDGET FOR THE BOULEVARD WIDENING AND APPROVING A LOAN OF $300,000 TO THE SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY TO FUND THE COST OF PREPARING THE CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS WHEREAS, as part of the Shearwater Redevelopment Plan, the Redevelopment Agency desires to widen a portion of Oyster Point Boulevard as identified in the attached staff report; and WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Agency requires a $300,000 loan to fund the costs associated with preparation of the contract documents and acquisition of the necessary right-of-way; and and WHEREAS, the funds for said loan shall come from the undesignated funds; WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Agency has approved borrowing $300,000 from the City of South San Francisco to be repaid with tax increment funds from the Shearwater Redevelopment Project; and WHEREAS, the addition of the widening of said portion of Oyster Point Boulevard should be added to the City's capital improvement program. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco, that: 1. The City Council hereby approves a loan of $300,000 to the South San Francisco Redevelopment Agency with funding to come from the undesignated reserve funds of the City with said funds being used for the preparation of construction documents for the widening of Oyster Point Boulevard and for associated right-of-way acquisition fees and costs. 2. The City Council further authorizes the City Manager to award A Time Materials Contract in an amount not to exceed $25,000 for (1) the preliminary design of the widening of Oyster Point Boulevard and (2)for Railroad right-of-way acquisition activities. 3. The City Council further authorizes CIP Budget Amendment No. 97-13 to add $300,000 to the City of South San Francisco Capital Improvement Program to fund the preparation of construction documents for the widening of Oyster Point Boulevard and for the associated acquisition costs. 4. The City Council further authorizes an amendment to the Capital Improvement Program to include the widening of a portion of the Oyster Point Boulevard. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 9th day of April , 1997 by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers James L.
