CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN AMENDMENT TO
THE 1997 JUNIPERO SERRA BOULEVARD
RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT IN THE AMOUNT OF
$250,000.00 FOR ADDITIONAL WORK AND AMENDING
THE 1996-97 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM
BUDGET
WHEREAS, on April 23., 1997, the City Council awarded a contract to Interstate
Grading and Paving, Inc., and approved a project budget in the amount of $1,210,000.00; and
WHEREAS, Hickey Boulevard between Junipero Serra and the western City Limits has been
added on to the project to be resurfaced under this contract; and
WHEREAS, in reconstruction of the roadway some tree roots will be removed which will cause
these trees to fall or die; and
WHEREAS, some trees are diseased and should be replaced, and the bare spots in-filled; and
WHEREAS, staff in conjunction with the Streets Department has requested that a 2' conduit be
installed and pull boxes set at every 200' on Junipero Serra Boulevard from Avalon Drive to Hickey
Boulevard for future signal interconnect cables; and
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco
that it hereby authorizes an amendment to the 1997 Junipero Serra Boulevard Reconstruction Project in the
amount of $250,000.00 for additional work.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council authorizes an amendment to the 1996-97
Capital Improvement Program budget ( CIP 97-21 ) adding $250,000.00 from the Measure A Funds for
the Junipero Serra Boulevard Reconstruction Project.
