NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that pursuant to the requirements of Health & Safety Code §17958.7 and Government Code §50022.4, the City Council finds and determines there is a need to adopt the following changes or modifications to the Uniform Administrative Code 1994 Edition, (Municipal Code Chapter 15.06) by reason of local conditions. Section 205, Violations, and Section 206, Penalties, are amended in light of Government Code §50022.4 to streamline enforcement procedures by facilitating non-judicial enforcement; to increase compliance levels and encourage voluntary compliance; and to be consistent with other Municipal Code provisions with regard to penalties by specifying that violations are infractions rather than misdemeanors. Similarly, Section 305, Fire and Health Protection, and Section 309, Approval of Other Officials Required, are modified to reflect the City's organizational and personnel structure and, specifically, the Fire Marshal's role as Chief Building Official. Tables 3-A through 3-H are deleted and replaced by provisions allowing greater conformity with other fee provisions in the Uniform Codes by providing a single fee source for all codes.
