CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO., STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF TWO (2)
STRYKER POWER PRO POWERED AI`/II3ULANCE COTS
(GURNEYS) IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $24,230.66;
AND AMENDING THE FIRE DEPARTMENT'S FISCAL YEAR
2010-11 OPERATING BUDGET
WHEREAS, the City of South San Francisco ("City") sl,affrecommends that the City Council
adopt a resolution authorizing the Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services ("EMS")
Division to purchase two (2) Stryker® Power Pro powered arbulance cots (gurneys); and
WHEREAS, the Fire Department currently loses money and employee work time from back
and lifting injuries that result from using the existing gurneys; and
WHEREAS, the purchase of the powered gurneys will generate cost savings, and will further
the Fire Department's goal of standardizing its ambulance equipment, which has proven to reduce
injuries.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco that the City Council hereby authorizes the Fire Department to purchase two (2) Stryker
Power Pro Powered Ambulance Cots (Gurneys) in an amount not to exceed $24,230.66; and amends
the Fire Department's Fiscal Year 2010-11 Operating Budget.

I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the
City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 8th day of
September 2010 by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Pedro Gonzalez Richard A_Garbarino, and Karyl Matsumoto
Vice Mayor Kevin Mullin and Mayor Mark Addie~o
