CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION APPROVING BUDGET AMENDMENT NO.97-11 TO
THE 1996-1997 OPERATING BUDGET FOR THE TRANSFER OF
FUNDS TO FACILITATE RETROACTIVE PAYMENT OF SALARIES
SPECIFIED IN THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN
THE CITY AND THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF FIRE
FIGHTERS LOCAL 1507
WHEREAS, the City Council, on December 27, 1996, approved a Memorandum
of Understanding between the City and International Association of Fire
Fighters Local 1507, which contains provisions to pay the sworn Fire Fighter
employees retroactive pay; and
WHEREAS, included in the estimates of specified retroactive pay are
payments to the Fire Public Safety employees, the Fire Chief, and retirees
entitled to back pay to July 1, 1995; and
WHEREAS, the total amount of retroactive pay called for under the
Memorandum of Understanding is estimated to be $382,245;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City of South San Francisco that
it hereby authorizes the transfer of $382,245 from the unreserved,
undesignated fund equity of the General Fund to the 1996-97 Operating Budget
to pay retroactive salaries specified in the Memorandum of Understanding
approved by the City Council on December 27, 1996.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced
and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a

1997, by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmembers James t. Datzman, Eugene R. Mullin, John R.
Penna, Robert Yee and Mayor Joseph A. Fernekes
