CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING BUDGET AMENDMENT
(NO. 97-15) TO THE 1996-1997 OPERATING BUDGET
APPROPRIATING AN AUGMENTATION TO THE PROJECT
READ BUDGET IN THE AMOUNT OF $4,600.00
WHEREAS, the California State Library Literacy Fund has provided matching grant funds to
Project Read in an amount larger than anticipated, including $4,000.00 which is available to augment the
Project Read Budget; and
WHEREAS, Project Read has received donations totaling $600.00 from the California State
Library and the "Reading is Fundamental" Project; and
WHEREAS, the $4,000.00 will be used to pay for office supplies needed for computer upgrades,
contract services for additional tutor and learner support activities, and for part time salaries' outreach
activities; and
WHEREAS, the $600.00 will augment the current Families for Literacy Project budget within
Project Read operations.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco
that it hereby authorizes an amendment to the Operating Budget ( No. 97-15 ) for 1996-1997 to add
$4,600.00 to the Project Read Budget.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of
the City of South San Franeiseo at a regular meeting held on the l?t-h dayof March ,
1997 by the following vote:
