HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 135-1996RESOLUTION NO. 135-96 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION APPROVING BUDGET PROPOSALS FOR THE BOCCI BUILDING AT 305 GRAND AVENUE AND SOUTH CITY BREWHOUSE AT 713 LINDEN AVENUE AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF GRANT AGREEMENTS WHEREAS, two properties located along the Linden Avenue Corridor, the Bocci Building (305 Grand Avenue) and 713 Linden Avenue, are presently vacant and/or in poor design and condition, which has resulted in undesirable uses of the property; and WHEREAS, it is recommended that the exterior of the Bocci Building, 305 Grand Avenue be remodeled, comprising a new awning redesign, new building and window signage and the elimination of the planter areas at the main building entry and below the windows at an estimated cost of $60,000; and WHEREAS, 713 Linden Avenue is being completely remodeled to create South City Brewhouse, a restaurant and micro brewery, with existing windows and doors to be replaced, new facade paneling installed and new graphic signage to be designed, and the parking lot to be improved with new lighting and landscaping, at an estimated cost of $200,000. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that: me follows: The following budget proposals are authorized and approved as a) Bocci Building, 306 Grand Avenue in the amount of $60,00 of which $15,000 shall be a Community Development Block Grant, $15,000 shall be a matching grant, $15,000 shall be an owner contribution, and $15,000 shall be a no-interest loan over five (5) years; and b) South City Brewhouse, 713 Linden Avenue in the amount of $200,000 of which $20,000 shall be a matching grant, $20,000 shall be a matching contribution by the owner, and $160,000 shall be owner financing. 2. The City Manager is authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the City of South San Francisco any and all grant agreements as appropriate to further these projects. * * * * * I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a reqular meeting held on the llth day of September , 1996 by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembesr Joseph A.
